suppo Donate Land! We need donated lots to build more homes! Habitat for Humanity depends on land that is donated. Eliminating the cost to purchase land dramatically reduces the cost of affordable homes we can build for qualified homeowners. The legacy will live on through the families who live in the houses built on that land. All land donations are tax deductible and some are eligible for tax credits. If you have land in Hampton, James City County, Newport News, Poquoson or York County and would like to reduce your tax obligation, please donate it to Habitat for Humanity Peninsula.

Therefore, the cost of one S.H.A.R.E. (Share Habitat's Affordable Re-housing Efforts) or one square foot is $54.17. These S.H.A.R.E. certificates make great holiday, graduation and birthday gifts that can be personalized with the recipient’s name. The personalized certificate is suitable for framing and will state the number of shares purchased and the amount of each share, as well as the recipient’s name. The home that you participate in “building” will last for many years and will continue to grow in value. Please print out and mail in the S.H.A.R.E. certificate form to place your purchase! Donate through United Way! Every contribution made to the United Way Combined Federal Campaign (CFC #34260) and the United Way Combined Virginia Campaign (CVC #3068) goes directly to Habitat's homeownership fund which provides homes in Hampton, James City County, Newport News, Poquoson, Williamsburg and York County. Volunteer Your Time! Habitat for Humanity Peninsula could not have completed any of its homes without the hard work and dedication of volunteers. Our ReStore and business office also rely on committed volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering in ANY capacity, please visit the "Volunteer Info" section of our website.
Tax credits are available through the Neighborhood Assistance
Program (NAP). NAP uses state income tax credits as incentives for
businesses to invest directly in certain approved community NAP
projects, such as Habitat, designed to benefit impoverished people,
in order to define local problems, design local solutions, and use
available resources to improve the community environment.
Participating businesses receive credits at 45% of the value of
their contribution (in addition to allowable federal and state
charitable contribution deductions) that can be applied against
their state income tax obligation. |
